Before it became one of St. Louis’s most sought-after venues, The Venue at Maison du Lac’s story dates to the 1840s. The Catawissa Stone House, a charming structure on the lake, was built in 1843 with local stone from the owner’s quarry, making it the second oldest house in the area.

In 1983, Dennis Kaim and Larry Kisner acquired the property, transforming it into a llama farm known as Catawissa Llamas. Fast forward to 2017, when Cecily Hoffius and Judith Bellos, the visionary owners of Ces & Judy’s Catering, took over the estate, turning it into the enchanting The Venue at Maison du Lac Venue that stands today.
